Day 1: Korca via Lin Village

After arriving at Tirana Airport we travel to Lin Village. On the way, we stop for a coffee break inside the Castle of Elbasan. See many Ottoman old houses, Sinan Pasha’s Turkish baths and wander in cabled streets inside the castle. Enjoy free time in the picturesque Lin village, wandering around streets shadowed with grape vines and old houses made of stone and bricks. Transfer to Korca. Get settled in your hotel in the Old City Center. Head for lunch in a traditional, local restaurant before setting off on a guided tour of the “City of Serenades” in the afternoon. Enjoy a free evening exploring “Le Petit Paris”.

Day 2-Ohrid via Drilon National Park

Spend a refreshing morning exploring the dreamy scenes of Drilon National Park nearby. The paths, willow trees, bridges, swans, doves, and ducks make for a magical visit.

We drive now towards the Medieval Monastery of Saint Naum where we enjoy a Macedonian traditional lunch. See the resident peacocks that roam the grounds and enter the monastery to view its intricate frescoes.

With a boat ride, we reach the main harbor in Ohrid. Free time during the evening to enjoy this gorgeous lakeside town.

Day 3: Sightseeing tour of Ohrid

Take in all that the charming city of Ohrid has to offer on a guided tour. Enter Samuil’s Fortress and walk along its historic 4th-century walls. See the Ancient Theatre of Ohrid, built in the Hellenistic style and walk up to the cliff-top Church of Saint John at Kaneo for panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Pass by the Church of Saint Sophia and enter the National Workshop for a handmade paper-making demonstration. Enjoy free time for shopping (visit stores with the original Ohrid pearls) and for lunch. We depart for Tirana in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Return

Tour Reviews

21 April 2018

Very good introduction to a country unknown to us. Nice mix of culture, nature and walking. The view of the Ohrid lake is serene. Loved walking in Korça’s bazaar. Listened to live serenades at Vila Coffiel which was a unique experience. The guide was very enthusiastic and gave us a lot of knowledge about this city, the region, and its inhabitants.
